Kingsport, TN (March 1, 2011) – Evergreen H&G Showplace joined the ranks of the horticulture industry’s top independent garden centers when it was named one of Today’s Garden Center’s Revolutionary 100.
The program, now in its sixth year, surveys garden center owners and managers and culminates in a listing of the 100 most revolutionary garden centers in the nation. It is open to all independent garden centers, large and small, and is based on leadership and innovation, not on size or revenue.
“We are delighted that we have been recognized as a Top 100 Garden Center in America, but we realize that we have the BEST customers right here in East Tennessee,” says Henere P Valk, President.
Garden center owners and managers across the United States fill out an extensive online questionnaire covering topics such as employee training, industry involvement, profitability, marketing, use of technology, purchasing, and customer and community service. The entrants are ranked according to a point system, and the 100 top entries make the list.
Evergreen is proud to be part of the cutting edge of horticulture in our local area. With our weekly email newsletters to gardening seminars to short videos explaining current trends, Evergreen is anxious to start digging in the dirt this spring. And our employees have been busy this spring planning and planting. Please join us in celebrating this recognition that belongs to our customers.
“The garden centers that made this year’s list are an exceptional group of forward-thinking, innovative retailers who are always striving to differentiate themselves from their competition,” says Today’s Garden Center Editor Jennifer Polanz. “We are proud to call them revolutionary.”
The 2011 Revolutionary 100 Awards program is sponsored by one of the premier industry suppliers for greenhouse structures, Nexus Greenhouse Corp.
