When sodding, cultivate the soil. Rake fertilizer lightly into the top 1/2 inch of soil. Lay sod and water well.
When overseeding, mow existing grass short. Rake or slice soil 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep. Rake or remove debris and apply fertilizer. Apply seed and water well.
