Community Involvement

How we work to stay involved in our community

At Evergreen of Colonial Heights, we believe gardening is about more than plants—it’s about growing community. Since 1966, we’ve been proud to serve Kingsport and the surrounding areas not only through plants and gardening expertise, but also through meaningful local involvement and support.

Each fall, we host our annual Fall Fest, a free community event designed especially for children and families. From activities and hands-on fun to outdoor memories, Fall Fest is one of our favorite ways to give back and celebrate the season with our community. We also have several “Evergreen” pets that children and adults alike enjoy interacting with. Our budgies, Boba & Auke, our tarantula, Twinkle Toes, and our paladarium filled with plants, frogs, lizards, & fish are interactive additions to our space.

Supporting Local Gardens & Nonprofits

We are honored to support local community gardens, schools, churches, and nonprofit organizations through donations and partnerships whenever possible. We believe gardens bring people together, create beauty, and positively impact the places we call home.

Supporting Other Local Businesses

As a family-owned business ourselves, we deeply value the importance of supporting fellow local businesses. We love collaborating, sharing resources, and encouraging the continued growth of our local community whenever we can.

Rooted in Community

For generations, Evergreen has been more than a garden center—we’ve been a place where relationships grow. We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue serving and giving back to the community that has supported our family business for decades.
