GREEN AND NOT SO GREEN

Keeping Your Lawn Green

Even though Thanksgiving has passed and we still have memories of the excitement (and calories) of our festivities, there are still plenty of garden adventures we can accomplish this time of year. Over the past few eGreenTips, I have keep you abreast of what I have done to my lawn to keep it green. In early September I did the following:

Used a dethatching machine to allow for better water and air penetration to the root system and to allow seed-to-soil contact.

Reseeded with blended fine-fescue grass seed (TLC Blend).

Added lawn lime at the rate of 40# per 1000 sq ft to raise the acidity level of my soil so nutrients would be absorbed more efficiently.

Applied a natural-based lawn Starter fertilizer.

Applied a natural based Winterizer fertilizer.
