It’s time for Step 4 of our 4-Step Lawn Care Program! Applying Fertilome Step 4 in the fall helps your lawn, trees, and shrubs prepare for the colder months ahead — kind of like putting on an overcoat for winter.

This special formula strengthens roots, builds hardiness, and improves disease resistance so your plants can bounce back healthier and greener in the spring.

Why Apply Step 4:

• Builds stem strength and boosts cold hardiness
• Increases disease resistance for healthier plants
• Helps warm-season grasses and evergreens endure winter stress

Where to Apply:

• Lawns: 20 lb. covers 5,000 sq. ft. / 40 lb. covers 10,000 sq. ft.
• Trees: 1 lb. per inch of trunk diameter (only on established trees & shrubs planted before this year — do not apply to maple trees)
• Shrubs: 1 cup per 3 ft. of height
